STAYCATION: Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon
Located in the heart of Saigon, a mix of heritage and contemporary.
We haven’t been able to travel a lot recently not just due to Covid, but also due to the fact that travelling with a toddler and a baby can be extremely exhausting. Our best option closest to a vacation is a staycation within the city. You still get similar vibes to being on vacation, but don’t have to bother with all the hassle of trying to get two kids sitting still over a long period of time in order to get to a travel destination.
Last Saturday we enjoyed a stay at Saigon’s infamous Renessaince Hotel, which is a center piece in the heart of Saigon. Having been around for over twenty years, in one of the most central area of Saigon, was able to evolve over time and now showcases a mix of contemporary and heritage interior. We were welcomed very warmly upon arrival and JJ actually shrieked when she saw the beautifully laid out welcome amenities in our room. Marshmallows, Chocolate, pretty little cakes and marshmallows. You can imagine. I was rather blown away by the view. It’s been such a long time that I have seen Saigon and the river from above, and it made me feel all excited about living in such a vibrant city again. Since Chiu is only one year old, I also somehow loved the fact that the rooms are carpented. Because even if she fell, it would be no problem, because the floor is soft.
My favourite part about every hotel visit is the breakfast buffet. JJ loves it too, because I always let her pick whatever she wants to eat on vacation. Even if it’s a lot and lot of sweets. The breakfast buffet is located at La Viet restaurant, which is right on the ground floor of the hotel, with a view on Saigons buzzing streets right outside. The atmosphere combibation of the contemporary interior, vibes from the streets outside and the beautiful lightning made me enjoy our breakfast even more.
