How can we change the world ?

To be honest, for me personally, just focusing on the good in my life and appreciating everything I have while ignoring all the suffering and bad things happening in the world is not an option. I have heard comments like Julia, why do you have to be so negative ? Why can’t you just ignore it. Fact is, I have tried. And I just can’t. I’m not saying that I’m a great activist or anything, but when I do hear a heartbreaking story, I do care. I often end up thinking why our world is so cruel. Why are humans so cruel. Is there anything I can do to make it better ? And after reading all the books about child brain development, I have made it my mission to raise more awareness about this topic. Like a quote I read today. It is easier to raise empathic children, than to fix broken adults. We have heard it over and over again. Children are our future. Yet I’m actually shocked by how little we get to learn about how to properly raise children so they can become caring and empathic adults with “mindsight” (the ability to put yourself in somebody else’s shoes).

I’m even questioning the whole system. Do governments actually want more mindful citizens ? Or do governments think they thrive off that lack of knowledge and misery of the people ? I mean lot and lots of businesses make a lot of money from bad decision-making of adults. So can I actually make an impact ? Or will it be in vain, because in the end power and money will decide anyway ? I guess I can try. A little by little. And even if not for changing the world for a better, at least I can encourage some people to try to have better relationships with their children. So at least these children can grow up more at ease and peace with themselves, than a lot of us did. Considering conditions 300 years ago we have already made so much progress. Imagine where humankind could be in another 300 years. All in the mountains cos global warming flooded too many regions lol. (Just kidding.)
