our new home

Some impressions of my brother and my new place ! It's a three-room apartment right at Schönhauser Allee station, which is really super central. It pretty much can't get better than this for my brother and I, location wise, because the station is just across the street, it's not far away from my uni, nor is it far away from my brother work place and school. It's a good apartment all in all. An expensive one as well, but yeah, we pay for the location. Prenzlauer Berg is more expensive than other parts of the city anyway, and our building is really so close to the station and shopping center, it's totally worth it. Because I'm a lazy person. I prefer to pay more, rather than walk longer. The apartment itself is not the apartment of my dreams, but it's not completely shit either. When I went to have a look at it, it was still in the process of refurbishing. I wish they had done that job better. It's not like the apartment is in a bad condition, but I have seen other refurbished apartments while looking for our new home, and most of them, which said refurbished, were in a much better condition. New kitchen, new bathroom, new windows and stuff. This one still is in it's 80s condition. Which is not completely shit, but I had expected more for the price. All they did was doing the floors and walls. I'm a little disappointed actually. I have to keep telling myself that the location is great. And that it's sunny in the afternoons. I love that. The rooms themselves are not bad, but yeah, the whole apartment should have gone through modernization. I would be completely in love with it, if it had. Now it's like a pair of shoes that you try to get used to. Which you kinda like, but then again maybe the shape of the heels is actually not completely yours, you know what I mean ? I'm pretty sure that I will be able to get used to this apartment once I have furnished it and cleaned it thoroughly, though. I also need to get a new kitchen. I wish I was a big blogger as Xia Xue is, so I could get everything sponsored. A kitchen costs a whole fucking lot of money you know. But I can't accept the kitchen that is in there right now either. It's too ugly to be true. I feel disgusted by just looking at it. But yeah, I chose this apartment, so I should quit complaining. It was the first place after a rather short time searching, that we got offered, so I thought 'now or never'. My dad told me to find a place as soon as possible and I felt a little under pressure, that's why I decided to rent this place. Not madly in love with it, but it's ok. I'm madly in love with the location, that's good enough. And I will make sure it will look really nice, so whatever.

The reason why I move in with my little brother, is that my dad wants me to. And since he's going to pay the rent, I do as he says. Otherwise I would have just stayed with my boyfriend until godknowswhen. My brother just moved to Berlin as well, starting an apprenticeship at Hyatt Hotel, and has been staying with my boyfriend and me for the past three weeks. No good constellation, especially if you only have three keys. Now I'm glad that he can have his own room and his own pair of keys, so we won't have to stress each other anymore. Now I just need to make sure that he cares about all the things that need to be done, because I will be leaving for Munich on Friday morning, and then will be off to Saigon on Monday night. Things like setting up the internet, etc.

I'm looking forward to coming back from Vietnam, because I can't wait to move in and furnish my room  ! I'm already diligently looking for interior inspiration on Pinterest ! The thoughest part is going to be the wardrobe. I don't have a lot of clothes but then again somehow I do have a lot of clothes.
