Hey, as you might know, I got my wisdom teeth removed last Thursday. The surgery itself didn't hurt at all. The pain started after the local anaesthetics ceased, but fortunately I had pain killers. So good. I have never really used pain killers before, and couldn't imagine how they would help but they did ! One moment the pain was there, 20 minutes later it's gone for six hours. And when the pain returns, you just throw another half a pill in. The only inconvenient thing was that you weren't supposed to swallow the pill on an empty stomach. So when I woke up and the pain was at its worst, i had to force myself to eat something before I could take the pain killers. And i really hate eating right after waking up. I don't have an appetite until at least four hours later. So I can never really enjoy breakfast or brunch.
The first day was bad. It ached but the swelling wasn't too bad yet. Eating was a pain in the ass. It took me like four hours to eat porridge. And an hour to eat half a banana. Such a disgusting feeling. Not being able to eat. The second day my face was really really swollen. Like real bad. But due to the pain killers no pain. Still couldn't eat though. On the third day the swelling ceased a little, and i tried eating Pho and Spagetthi. It took me a whole day haha. It was so tiring that i stopped eating every now and then, and when I felt hungry again, I would put a spoon in my mouth just to chew on it endlessly. Same on the 4th day. On the 5th day after the surgery, yesterday, I felt like I could chew again. Like properly. The swelling in my right cheek was gone, but iam a really careful person when it comes to wounds and injuries, so i stuck to eating mashed potatoes and bananas. Even now on my 6th day i prefer not to anything that I have to chew. You know, just to make sure the wound heals super properly. Ok I had a McFlurry with Kitkat just now, and that wasn't a good idea haha.
Oh well, if you need to get through with it, just get through with it. The first three days you will feel miserable, especially if you are someone who loves to eat, like me. But after that you get used to it, and realize, the worst part is over. Now iam just waiting for my face to get back to normal. I have a check-up on Thursday to get the stitches removed and after that I hope everything will get back to normal, and I can fully enjoy and embrace the fact that I have lost 4kg. No, not in one week. I have been eating very little ever since it started to get hotter, and with all the not eating, I have finally made it back to 56kg. I havn't been 56kg in two years. Back then I swore to myself not to gain weight again, but I failed. I will nontheless swear to myself again this time, and Iam sure I can make it. I feel confident about my self-control. I will go swimming as often as possible and really stop eating when iam full. I used to stuff myself until the plate was empty, no matter how much it was. At my worst times I was 67kg. Dude I was so chubby. But no more ! So in case you get your wisdom teeth removed, use it as an opportunity to start a diet haha. You won't be able to eat anyway, whether you want to or not.
