Due to my work i didn't really bother to put nail polish on in the past few years. The last time I had nail polish on was in Saigon last summer when I went for a manicure with my friend Nhan. And I didn't even bother to get a manicure regularly. FYI iam a waitress. It is a lot of physical work, and my nails always fucked up pretty quick, so one day i just removed my nail polish and never applied any again. Besides, my mom said nail polish ain't good for your nails. And she was a nail designer for seven years before she got my little sister. So, one more reason to quit using nail polish. Funny right, I didn't quit smoking because it is bad for my health, but I quit using nail polish because it is bad for my nails. How does that make sense.
I kind of quit my job to have more time for Floralpunk and blogging and appartment hunt though, which means i don't really have much to do on most days. I started watching TV again, checking out blogs, and basically I have a lot of time these days. So i stumbled on this Vivi scan and thought, hey, that looks cool. I could put on some nail polish while watching TV, so I have something to do. I decided to do that on a day when my mom wasn't home, so I didn't know where she stores all her nail polishes. Eager Julia went to the drug store and wanted to buy some nail polish. White nail polish. Did you know that there is barely any white nail polish being sold at "dm" (German drug store chain)? And the only brand which has it is "essie", which is a rather expensive one ? I bought it nontheless. For 8€. Eight Euro. That's so expensive man. For nail polish. Anyway, good that i bothered to do all that, because I kind of like having coloured nails. I had to apply and remove the polish like three times, while watching How I Met Your Mother, until I was satisfied with the result. You know it's not easy, right. Freshly painted nails. A billion possible enemies. Every single movement could destroy all your work.
When I was younger I was really into Japanese styles. Like Gyaru or Lolita fashion, and they always have such fancy and amazing nails. If I ever get to go to Japan, I will definitely get my nails done by a Japanese nails artist !
