REVONS STUDIO
This is our go-to place for any kind of shoot actually. It’s a fairly big studio with two daylight rooms, white walls, basic flooring and a lot of natural daylight in the mornings and a great mood around afternoon. We mostly come here for basic flatlay and outfit detail photos. We love this place because it’s close to our shop, service is decent, nobody bothers you and it’s pricing is pretty good at 250K/hour. There is also always an available spot somehow when we need it, that’s why we always come back. For first-timers it can be a little hard to find. It’s opposite 166A Ton That Thuyet and it’s like a warehouse. You just walk in, it will be the last studio on the right. (The last studio because there are two others.)

Location: Opposite 166A Ton That Thuyet, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Price: 250K/Hour

D ROCK’s STUDIO
We love this place even though we have shot there only once. This place is huge, last time we had two shootings at the same time together with my boyfriend. It’s the top floor of an old apartment building with super high ceilings and a very strong industrial feeling due to its rawness. If you just need a couple flatlay shots this is not going to be very your most profitable choice, as one hour is 700K. And you need to book well in advance, this is not a place you can just drop by due to its popularity. Service is really friendly and helpful, they speak English as well. Since its on the top floor one sessions comes along with free usage of the rooftop as well.

Location: A2-25, 341 Cao Dat, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Price: 700,000VND/1 hour, 2,500,000VND/4 hours, 3,800,000VND/1 day = 8 hours

Le Thuy Giang PT.I

Clothing: Subtle and Simple
Location: Kurious Cafe Bangkok, Thailand

There are very few people I personally know that really inspire me with their work in a creative way. Giang, co-founder of the Hanoian brand Subtle and Simple is one of them. I respect her so much as a friend for her personality, but also for her ambition and work. I also really adore Viet, her boyfriend who is the other half of the brand, but more because he is really really funny haha. But I'm sure he deserves his credit as well, the things is, that he is just too funny to consider anything else. Giang is one of those people who exactly know what they want. Or at least that's how I feel. She is fearless and stubborn but in a good way. And I really admire her for that. When I first got to know her, she talked so little and I was a little intimidated by her, but after having known her for a while, I can only talk highly of her. She is not the lovey dovey type, so she might find reading this a little creepy : ))))

In my opinion Subtle and Simple is growing into a brand like no other on the Vietnamese fashion market. With its own aesthetics and brand values, I'm so confident that they will outgrow the local market sooner or later. To me, Subtle and Simple is a brand that needs to be known internationally. Watch out for their next collection. I've seen previews and I'm already in love !

Oh and these photos were taken during our recent Thailand trip. After lunch we went to this cafe, which belongs to a hotel, and can I please mention how shooting-friendly public cafes in Bangkok are ? Seriously we spent like one hour shooting all kinds of things from flatlays to outfits there and nobody said a thing, they kept being friendly and smiling : )
I really like shooting Giang because she has a deep expression and poses so naturally. This is the first set of images I took for her. It's been a long time since I have taken photos I love this much ! I hope you guys like them as much as I do <3

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
< 情人节快乐 >

Everyone happy in love yet ? Let me tell you one thing about love that I know. Love is everything but easy. And self-help books sometimes actually help. I don't want to talk about my relationship right now (or do I?) because it gives people opportunity to bash me and I'm just not in the mood for that because I still have so much work to worry about, but in case anybody cares about me enough to leave me this one after months of crying and being sad: I'm happy now. And still with the same guy. And nothing is ever how I expect them to be but as already said, love ain't easy. You feel me on this one, don't cha. Anyway, whoever is happily single right now, I'd go and get a big pizza and eat it all by myself without having to worry about the last piece while watching some good anime. Cheeeers <3

CHUN HACK

photos taken by me

It's rare to meet people that fascinate you with their aura. Chun is one of those people. Studied in Russia for 7 years, got a Phd, and decided to go back to Vietnam to work as tattoo artist. People driven by passion rather than society's expectations amaze me.

He's one of the calmest person I have ever met. He's living the life of a loner without ever feeling lonely. Very contrary to my own personality. I enjoy talking to him because he actually listens without expecting any sensation from it. Talking to him is not to convince or impress. It's just simply talking.

So yeah, this is Chun. I took these photos at his studio today. If you are interested in dot or black work, you might want to check out his work. Just check instagram for @chunhack or Chun Hack Tattoo on Facebook. The studio is at 245/43 Nguyen Trai, District 1. He's really nice, trust me on this one.
