Because I care about the way I dress and am a blogger people often assume that I'm extremely interested in fashion. I often have to disappoint people by telling them that I actually don't follow the happenings in the fashion industry that much. That I do not know every single piece of every single collection by every designer. I do not know all those famous models and fashion photographers. In fact I have to admit that I actually know very little of the industry. I'm not that much of a fashionista or someone to turn to if it's about the current season's trends. Which doesn't mean that I don't care, but it's simply not a priority in my life. It also doesn't mean that I don't know any brands and close my eyes when it comes to the current season's collections, but since I'm not able to actually buy those clothes, I don't really bother too much to look at them either. Because the truth is that it depresses me. I hate not being able to want things I can't have, so I prefer not to know about them. I work hard so that one day I can afford buying clothes from designer brands, but it's a long way to go. In the meantime I'm happy enough shopping at Zara and wearing the products that I'm going to stock for Floralpunk.
If people ask me for my favorite brand though, my answer would always be Givenchy, ever since 2009. I don't own a single thing by Givenchy, which means that I don't love it as in wearing Givenchy but in looking at whatever Givenchy creates. I know that Givenchy is not only Ricardo Tisci, but still, he is a genius to me. No matter whether men's or women's fashion. Whether Pret-a-Porter or Haute Couture. I don't always love every piece in the collection, but I always love the whole and every collection. It's a dream of mine to be able to wear what I see on the runway one day. If you have a favorite brand and can't afford it, you might know my yearning.
